2017 September School Start-Up, High School Division

St. John Catholic High School would like to extend a warm welcome to our St. John family as we begin a new school year. As plans progress we would like to pass along some information we’re sure you will find helpful.

First, we would like to invite our grade 9 students to an orientation day this Thursday, August 31st from 10:00 – 12:30. It’s a great opportunity to meet your teachers, see where your classes are and then enjoy a free barbeque lunch provided by the school.

The first day of school is Tuesday, September 5th. Period 1 teachers will be collecting a $30 student fee from all high school students the first week of school to a maximum of $60 per family. Lockers will be assigned to each student once the fee has been collected. Students will use school issued locks, so please do not bring your own lock.

Students interested in playing football this year should note that the first practice will take place the first day of school. Players will need to bring shorts, a t-shirt, running shoes or cleats and water. You can register for this year’s team at by clicking on the registration tab.

And this year our cafeteria will be offering a new and convenient way to purchase food at the cafeteria with their Zipthru Dine Smart Reloadable card. Just like any gift card, a balance is loaded on a card and declines as purchases are made. More information on this service will be sent home the first week of school.

All information on school events can be found on our school website. Parents are encouraged to monitor our website on a continuous basis.
