This week Mrs. Peckham, our school literacy lead, has delivered a short presentation to all our grade ten and eleven students to share all the information we currently have regarding the test.
While we are awaiting more information, we believe St. John students will write the test online in late March or early April. According to Ministry policy, all students who will attempt the test must write it here in the school. More information about how this will impact our remote learners will be forthcoming from CDSBEO.
To further prepare our students, Mrs. Peckham will be visiting grade ten and eleven classrooms to discuss the test’s format and requirements. You may also choose to visit the EQAO web site for more resources. (www.eqao.com)
St. John will also be offering a free, after-school literacy remediation program online. It will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays via Teams meeting from 2:30-3:30 beginning Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Should you wish to enroll your child in this program, please email Mrs. Peckham directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or call her at extension 223.
